Test Question Bank Committee Convenes Harumi Workshop

Tokyo, Japan – July 8, 2025 – The Test Question Bank Management Committee successfully concluded its productive two-day workshop this past weekend, July 5th and 6th, at the L stay & grow Harumi in Tokyo. The intensive gathering aimed to enhance question creation methodologies, solidify user-centric utilization of the test question bank, and foster crucial dialogues on engineering talent development and assessment in higher education and the professional sphere.
A significant highlight of the camp was the "International Utilization in ASEAN" sharing opinion session on July 5th, which underscored the committee's commitment to global collaboration. Indonesian members actively participated, providing invaluable insights and stimulating discussions.
The session featured key presentations from leading Indonesian universities:
Farid Triawan from Sampoerna University presented the successful results of their Tuning Test Implementation, conducted on June 24th, with 13 students participating.
Muslim Mahardika from Gadjah Mada University, joining virtually, shared the outcomes of their Tuning Test held on June 24th, involving 19 students. Mahardika also reported on some technical issues encountered with multiple-choice questions.
Pandji Prawisudha from Institute Technology Bandung, also participating online, provided an update on the recent advancements in their Mechanical Engineering Curriculum.
Following these comprehensive presentations, Japanese professors engaged in a fruitful question and answer session, contributing to a vibrant exchange of ideas.
"We were delighted to have our Indonesian members participate, and it was a great pleasure to reconnect and deepen our exchange after some time," stated Kyushu Univ. VP and workshop organizer Prof. Satoko Fukahori. "Hearing about their innovative initiatives was incredibly stimulating, and this session was truly fruitful in advancing our international collaboration efforts."
Beyond the international focus, the camp also facilitated significant progress in other areas, including a detailed workshop on formalizing descriptive question creation using "discussion sheets" and leveraging generative AI as an auxiliary tool. Experts like Mr. Komatsugawa from Chitose Institute of Science and Technology presented on educational improvement initiatives, and Mr. Toshihiro Arisaka from Hitachi Academy's Management Training Division provided industry perspectives. Professor Saito led a session on utilizing generative AI for prompt formalization and scoring methods in question creation.
